Our Library is an inviting and exciting place for students, parents and teachers. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful P&C who support our Library with generous funding.

In 2018 the Library will be staffed by Mrs Nash and Mrs Hutt. Mrs Nash has a passion for books and literature that is well known and Mrs Hutt is excited to be teaching Information Skills and literature activities to all classes. With both Mrs Nash and Mrs Hutt in the Library this year it is bound to be a fun and exciting place to be! Come in for a look around and see what we are recommending this week.

In Term 1 most Library and Information Skills sessions are being taught by Mrs Hutt and times are as follows:

5/6: Tuesday morning from 9.25 -10.25am Borrowing and information skills (Inc. research skills)

Year 3: Tuesday 11.55 - 12.40pm Borrowing and information skills (Inc. research skills)

Kindergarten: Tuesday 12.40- 1.35pm - Buddy reading, borrowing and concepts of print

Mrs Nash will teach Library and Information skills to Year 1 and Year 2 on a Monday morning from 10.40 - 11.25am. Mrs Howard will accompany the Year 1 class to the Library also.

In all Library sessions, borrowing and shared book reading will occur as well as Information Skills being taught. Information skills sessions include: being shown and introduced to the lay out of the Library, how Fiction and Non Fiction resources are shelved and located, author studies, assessing, locating, analysing and evaluating information found from a variety of sources such as books and web sites, creating book trailers, sharing recommendations to class mates and critically evaluating literature.

In addition to our K-6 curriculum activities, we also have our Little Bookworms program which runs each Tuesday afternoon from 2.25-3.25pm. Mrs Nash is facilitating this program.I'd love to see lots of pre schoolers coming along to enjoy a shared story and craft activity.
